Prince of Peace is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (http://www.lcms.org/), and as such we accept without reservation or qualification:The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the revealed, inspired, inerrant, infallible and written Word of God and the only rule and norm of faith and practice; All the Symbolical Books (or "Confessions") of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (provide link there), also known as the "Lutheran Confessions," as a true and unadulterated statement and exposition of the Word of God.

In brief summary:

Jesus is mankind's only Lord and Savior. We believe this in faith that is created and sustained solely by God's Word. This Word, the Holy Scriptures, is God's perfect self-revelation. It describes how God is the creator of everything that exists. Its message is His perfect justice and His love and mercy in Christ for every person. We receive God's Word through ongoing participation in His service of worship and in the study of the Holy Scriptures. Faith born of this Word compels us to make disciples (fellow Christian believers) by proclaiming God's Law-Ever since the first-created humans Adam and Eve rebelled against God's good and perfect will, every person in every time and place is as good as dead in their sins against God. Sin is an inherited condition that affects every person.Without God's intervention, sin would make every person subject to His wrath and condemnation (hell, not heaven) for eternity. There is no peace in this broken relationship. No person is capable of putting themselves right with God by their own efforts, no matter how hard they may try.

and also always proclaiming God's Gospel (the "Good News")-To come to the aid of humanity in dire distress under sin, God intervened by becoming human in His Son, Jesus Christ. This divine-and-human Son lived a perfect life in our place and then died on a cross to earn forgiveness for our sins. God thus offered Himself as an infinitely valuable self-sacrifice, a substitute who completely paid the penalty that humanity deserved. The Father has declared all people sinless and holy-worthy of life with God for eternity (heaven, not hell)-in His Son's resurrection from the dead. The Holy Spirit works faith (certain trust) in this Gospel and applies this declaration of righteousness to individual Christians through the instruments He has provided for such purpose: preaching God's Word and administering the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion according to Jesus' command. This is how a person is completely freed from their sin and has peace forever-a restored relationship with God. "Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way" (2 Thessalonians 3:16). All this is God's doing (a gift). It doesn't happen by an individual's efforts or decision (works).
